Williamsburg Health Foundation announces $1M grant to prevent evictions

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Williamsburg Health FoundaÂtion has announced a $1 million grant funding to Williamsburg, James City County and York County to prevent rental evictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
âThere is a profound, multifaceted connection between oneâs housing and oneâs health,â said Carol L. Sale, PresÂident and CEO of WHF. âSo profound that Trustees of the Williamsburg Health Foundation made the challengÂing decision to increase the foundationâs annual spending limit this year which required reaching into the founÂdationâs corpus to fund this program. This is a unique and important million-dollar investment for us and for the entire community.â
A new grant is coming to help out renters in the Greater Williamsburg area.
The Williamsburg Health Foundation announced on Monday the City of Williamsburg, James City County and York County would receive a $1 million grant to help prevent Greater Williamsburg residents from rental evictions during the coronavirus pandemic.
