This is such a worthwhile program. Beginning April 1, 2021 Greenagers will offer a 3-person farm crew for hire to local farms. The total cost to farms is $260/day. (The total, unsubsidized cost per day is $517.26.)
This project is made possible by a grant from Berkshire Agricultural Ventures (BAV) - covering 35% of the cost - and private donors.
The crew will comprise one farmer (minimum 3 years experience) and two helpers with farm or conservation on work experience.
At least two crew members will be able to run motorized tools and machinery.

The Norwood Evening Garden Club will virtually host Joann Vieira, the statewide director of horticulture for The Trustees of Reservations at 7 p.m. March 30 via Zoom.
Vieira is passionate about plants trees and shrubs in particular and will share some of her favorites, along with tips on sourcing and growing them. Guests will learn more about distinctive trees and shrubs that will add interest and sophistication to your garden year-round. And learn which ones are fragrant, which ones have an interesting form or winter presence, which ones have beautiful flowers and/or foliage and which ones are well suited to New England gardens.
