Trustees for Carl Sandburg College last week agreed to an extension of the labor agreement with the Sandburg Education Association. The Board of Trustees approved the agreement at their regular meeting Thursday evening on the school's main campus in Galesburg. The labor agreement allows Sandburg to continue to focus on students and student success, according to a release from the college. The agreement was reached through interest-based bargaining, a process that allows for thoughtful and quality discussions to take place between the two sides to achieve a common goal. The community college's original three-year rolling collective bargaining agreement with the SEA was approved by trustees in July of 1996 and expired in 1999. The agreement has continued over the last 24 years and was extended through the fiscal year 2026. Included in the agreement are salary and wage increases of 2.75 percent for 2022, and 3 percent increases through 2026. The school's fiscal year begins
