Jerry Miller, professor and associate director of undergraduate studies in the School of Communication Studies, first came up with the idea to bring place-based education to Ohio University in May 2017. He traveled to the Teton Science Schools with the Ohio Fellows Program for a one-week communication and environmental leadership event in the Wyoming mountains.

Rotating or variable schedules
A flexible workplace plan will vary based on how employees interact with the campuses they serve. For example, some offices that are primarily “back office” may be able to operate effectively with employees who are partially or fully remote. Other offices that are “front-facing” for student, colleagues, or the public, may be effective with modified remote schedule.
Some important terms related to flexible workplace plans:
Remote Work - the practice of an employee working at their home, or in some other place that is not an organization s usual place of business.

The Inclusive Pedagogy Academy is a collaborative offering of the Office of Instructional Innovation’s Center for Teaching and Learning and the Division of Diversity and Inclusion, with the support of two faculty co-chairs. Inclusive pedagogy honors and celebrates difference within the classroom by engaging faculty in various approaches to teaching and student engagement. Traditional educational practices do not always support students in reaching their full potential. Inclusive pedagogy challenges faculty to think and teach differently.

Digital Course Materials program provides thousands of OHIO students with immediate access to materials Published: February 17, 2021 Author: Staff reports
As part of Ohio University’s Affordable Learning Content initiative a cross-departmental collaboration between University Libraries, the Office of Instructional Innovation (OII) and the Office of Information Technology (OIT) the Digital Course Materials program continues to provide seamless access to discounted learning materials to students on the first day of classes.
Over the past academic year, instructors of over 900 course sections have enrolled in OIT’s Digital Course Materials program, an increase of 42 percent.
