Unit 2 – Mark E. Bushue, 57, of Altamont
PRELIMINARY:
Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was at the intersection of 750th and 300th Streets, facing north. Unit 2 was travelling west on 300th Avenue. Unit 1 began travelling north through the intersection, failing to yield to oncoming traffic. Unit 1 struck Unit 2 in the intersection, causing the accident. Unit 1 continued into a ditch. Unit 2 continued past the ditch and landed in the field on the northwest corner. Unit 1 was uninjured. Unit 2 was transported to the hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling northbound on 1775
th Street, approaching the intersection with Illinois Route 33, Effingham County. Unit 2 was traveling westbound on IL RT-33. Unit 1 failed to yield the right-of-way and was struck on its passenger side as it crossed in front of Unit 2. Unit 1 driver and passenger were transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Unit 2 driver and passenger reported no injuries at the scene. Unit 2 was traveling westbound on IL RT-33. Unit 1 attempted to turn left onto eastbound IL RT-33 and was struck as it crossed in front of Unit 2.
