Guns seized after shots fired at McKenzie Court

Guns were seized and three men were taken into custody on marijuana possession charges after reports of machine gunfire at a Tuscaloosa apartment complex Sunday, police say. Additional charges are expected.  The three men  ages 18, 19 and 20 were each charged by members of the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force with second-degree possession of marijuana.  Their arrests were announced in a news release from the Tuscaloosa Police Department. At 11:47 a.m. Sunday, Tuscaloosa police responded to McKenzie Court, off Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, after reports that men were shooting hundreds of rounds from machine guns. A Tuscaloosa police sergeant responded to the scene and notified other officers about a silver BMW he saw speeding from the area, police said. Multiple other units responded and stopped the vehicle in the area of Interstate 359 and 35th Street.
