Gov Little, 19 other Governors call on Biden, Harris to act on border crisis

May 12, 2021 Idaho Governor Brad Little joined 19 other state governors in signing a letter to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris urging them to take immediate action to secure the United States-Mexico border. In the letter, the governors noted a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol report of a “staggering surge” in recent illegal border crossings, including 172,000 encounters just in March – the highest in 20 years – and close to 19,000 unaccompanied children. Also in the letter, Little and the other governors say the border crisis is due to what they call reckless federal policy reversals executed within the Biden and Harris Administration’s first 100 days in office.
