Network Outage Announcements March 19 The University’s Information Resources team has continued to work to recover central systems and applications this week. Access has been restored to my.utep.edu, Goldmine, the Library’s online resources, and Jabber, a service that allows University phone lines to be answered remotely. The Pete’s Payment Options portal is available to process online payments. Students who had payment deadlines during the outage will not have late fees assessed to their accounts. For payment-related questions, please email sbs@utep.edu. The team is finishing scans on campus computers. Faculty and staff who were previously working on campus but were instructed to work remotely due to the outage may return to campus on Monday, March 22, 2021.

In support of its mission to provide sustainable solutions to world problems while preparing the next generation of leaders Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences has joined the Global Challenges University Alliance 2030. The alliance, referred to as GCUA, is a network of more than 15 universities worldwide that have a shared vision of contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through international collaboration and research.

Rev. Naomi Tutu to speak virtually at CSU on March 24 22 Mar, 2021 Rev. Nontombi Naomi Tutu, race and gender justice activist as well as the daughter of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, will speak virtually at Colorado State University on March 24 at 3 p.m. Mountain Time. The talk is presented as part of the Global Engagement Distinguished Speaker Lecture series by CSU’s Office of International Programs and sponsored by First National Bank of Omaha. The Zoom event will be free and open to the public, but registration is required. Rev. Tutu uses the challenges she faced growing up Black and female in apartheid South Africa to inspire her activism for human rights. Her experiences taught her that, as she explains, “our whole human family loses when we accept situations of oppression, and how the teaching and preaching hate and division injure us all.”

2021 Showcase award winners announced | WSU Insider | Washington State University

March 1, 2021 Faculty and staff winners of this year’s Showcase awards were announced today ahead of the weeklong celebration of academic excellence. Amit Bandyopadhyay, a faculty member of the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, received this year’s Distinguished Faculty Award in recognition of his achievements in research, scholarship and teaching. Bandyopadhyay will be delivering this year’s Distinguished Faculty Address on March 22. The State of the University address, Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (SURCA), Three-Minute Thesis and the Celebrating Excellence Awards Ceremony are among events scheduled during the annual Showcase week, March 22-29.
