Joe Biden to Publicly Receive Coronavirus Vaccine on Monday

President-elect Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden will receive a coronavirus vaccine publicly on Monday, according to his team.
“It’s important to us, as he’s stated many times, to send a clear message to the public that it’s safe,” Jen Psaki, whom Biden has selected as White House press secretary, said.
The event will take place publicly in Delaware. Vice President-elect Kamala Harris and second gentlemen Doug Emhoff will receive the vaccine one week later “to avoid a situation in which all of the leaders of the incoming administration experience side effects at the same time,” according to

FDA authorizes Moderna s COVID vaccine for emergency use
The Food and Drug Administration authorized a second COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use. The new Moderna vaccine is similar to Pfizer s which was authorized for use last week. It also requires two doses, but it does not need to be kept as cold as Pfizer s.
FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn says delivery could begin nationwide by Monday. Unlike the Pfizer vaccine, Moderna s is approved for use only in adults.
