The Alaska Public Interest Research Group (AKPIRG) requested the investigation.
Stevens announced in February that he was planning on departing his position as chief of staff for Governor Dunleavy to go work as vice president of external affairs and transportation for ConocoPhillips Alaska.
In a release by AKPIRG, the group s executive director, Veri di Suvero, said the governor and Stevens knowingly failed to follow protocols set in law governing when certain public officials choose to leave state employment.
