A barangay kagawad (councilman) and his companion have been arrested for “selling vaccination slots” for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Tondo, Manila, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said on Friday, July 30.
NBI Officer-in-Charge Director Eric B. Distor identified the two arrested persons as Barangay Kagawad Arturo Flores Magtalas and Benjie Lagasca Montaos.
Distor said they were arrested during an entrapment operation conducted by agents of the NBI’s Special Action Unit (NBI-SAU) last July 24 at the vaccination site at Gen. Vicente Lim Elementary School in Tondo. Seized from them were P60,000 in marked bills paid by NBI agents who posed as clients.

Four people were arrested by the Taguig police in three separate buy-bust operations in the city Saturday.
The entrapment operations yielded a total 38 grams of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) estimated to be worth P258,400.

In Brgy. Hagonoy, the Taguig police’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) conducted a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of suspect Jeremie Cruz, 38, a resident of the city.
Seized from the suspect were five pieces of plastic sachets containing 3.9 grams of shabu worth P26,520, two pieces of P100 bills used as buy-bust money and a wallet.
