The Full Employment Council and Metropolitan Community College were chosen to receive grants of up to $50,000 through the Missouri Apprentice Ready initiative, according to a news release. Missouri Apprentice Ready launched in February and is “an initiative that invests U.S. Department of Labor funds toward the development of pre-apprenticeship opportunities, supporting pathways to Registered Apprenticeships,” the release stated.

Fletcher is a physical therapist at Sage Day Neuro and will serve as a representative of an organization recognized for its work in advocacy programs for persons with spinal cord injury.

(WLBT) - Mississippi is one of just three states that’s lost population in the last decade, according to the 2020 Census information released this week. Fewer folks identifying as Mississippians isn’t a shock to many. “A lot of our friends that I grew up with left the state and didn’t come back,” said Schuyler Dixon. “What brought us back was family, but for a lot of folks whose families leave too, there isn’t much of a draw here. There has to be some kind of reason to come back, whether that’s jobs or technology.”
