Packages containing nearly 65 pounds of methamphetamine seized by CBP officers at Hidalgo International Bridge
HIDALGO, Texas US Customs and Border Protection (CDP), Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Hidalgo International Bridge arrested an 18-year-old woman from Edinburg, Texas after detecting alleged methamphetamine concealed within the vehicle she was driving valued at $1,297,000.
“Young people getting involved in illicit activities such as these must realize that there are consequences that could possibly impact the rest of your life,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas. “CBP highly encourages everyone not to fall prey to these smuggling organizations who promise quick financial gains on their behalf.”

Back in April, another 18-year-old woman was arrested at a US-Mexico border checkpoint after officers with the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) discovered she was transporting more than $50,000 worth of methamphetamine into the US.
The CBP on Monday announced that officers with the Office of Field Operations at the Hidalgo International Bridge arrested an 18-year-old female resident of Edinburg, Texas, after locating 24 packages of methamphetamine in her vehicle s tires.
The arrest, which occurred on May 9, took place after the US woman attempted to cross back into the country from Mexico. Using a non-intrusive imaging examination, agents inspecting her 2016 Ford Fusion located some 64.86 pounds (29.42 kilograms) of a substance believed to be methamphetamine.

The coronavirus has been cited for one police officer line of duty death in Maryland in 2021, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page. Nationally, 63 of the 119 police line of duty deaths in 2021 as of May 4, just under 53 percent, have been due to the virus.

HIDALGO, TX U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Hidalgo and Anzalduas International Bridges arrested two persons in connection with two failed separate, unrelated drug smuggling attempts of alleged methamphetamine and cocaine valued at $4,662,000.
“These two interceptions of hard narcotics are the result of hard work and determination by our frontline officers to keep our borders safe. Narcotics interdiction is one of many disciplines within Field Operations’ multi-faceted border security mission,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas.
On May 5, 2021, CBP officers working at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge referred a 37-year-old male U.S. citizen from McAllen, Texas driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck for further examination. A (canine team) assisting in the secondary inspection allowed the officers to discover a total of 94 packages
