Two Bibb County deputies have been fired for policy failures that led to a male and female inmate being able to engage in a “consensual sexual encounter.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office fired two deputies Tuesday, for Breach of Security.
The terminations stem from an incident that occurred on July 22, 2020.
An internal affairs investigation revealed deputies Christina Cobb and Emmalamecca Long failed to maintain proper security of an inmate holding area. This failure to follow protocol resulted in a male and female inmate engaging in a consensual sexual encounter.
It was determined that Cobb and Long violated the following Bibb County Sheriff’s Office policies:
Violation of Rules – Employees shall not commit any acts or omit any acts which constitute a violation of any of the rules, regulations, directives, policies, or orders of the Sheriff’s Office or Macon-Bibb County Government, whether stated in this policy or not.

BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department deputy has been fired after the department’s Office of Professional Standards concluded its investigation into the January 2, 2021 incident involving deputies in the City of Springfield and the arrest of a man who was just circulating a petition in his own neighborhood.
A statement released Friday from Sheriff Steve Hinkley said, “We hold ourselves to high standards of professionalism to the communities we protect. When we are right, we are right. When we are wrong, we admit we are wrong. On January 2, we were wrong.”
