Double Fatal Head-On Crash on NM Highway 2 in Chaves County

By News Editor And Partners • 1 hour ago    Chaves County, NM – On April 4, 2021 at approximately 2:30 p.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal head-on crash near Crockett Road on NM Highway 2, south of Roswell, NM.  The initial investigation indicates a 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada SUV, driven by a 33-year-old male from Roswell, NM, was traveling southbound on NM Highway 2. As the Oldsmobile attempted to pass another vehicle in the opposing northbound lane, the Oldsmobile collided head-on into a northbound 2009 Ford Focus passenger car. The Ford caught fire and became engulfed in flames. The driver of the Oldsmobile sustained injuries believed to be non-life threatening and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital.

New Mexico State Police Ofc. Darian Jarrott Killed During Traffic Stop On Interstate 10 East Of Deming In Luna County NMSP News: LUNA COUNTY –  A New Mexico State Police (NMSP) officer stationed in Deming was assisting Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Thursday and initiated a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet pickup truck on Interstate 10 eastbound, near mile marker 101 east of Deming. During the traffic stop, the driver identified as Omar Felix Cueva, 39, fired at least one shot at NMSP Ofc. Darian Jarrott. Ofc. Jarrott was struck and killed by gunfire. An HSI agent arrived on scene and notified NMSP dispatch that an officer was down.

Single Vehicle Fatal Rollover Crash on Interstate 25 near Las Cruces

By news editor and partners • Jan 13, 2021    Dona Ana County, NM – On Tuesday at approximately 3:30 p.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a single-vehicle fatal rollover crash on Interstate 25, near milepost 7 in Las Cruces, NM.  The initial investigation indicates a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, driven by Alfred J. Perez (23) of Peoria, AZ, was traveling north on Interstate 25.  For unknown reasons, the Chevrolet left the roadway and rolled.  Perez was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.  He was pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of Medical Investigator.   Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash and seatbelts were not properly utilized.  This crash is under investigation by the New Mexico State Police.

Fatal head-on collision on Columbus Highway (NM 11) Headlight staff reports LUNA COUNTY, N.M. – The New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal head-on crash on NM Highway 11, near milepost 16 south of Deming, NM. NMSP were called to the scene at 7:04 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020. The initial state police investigation indicates a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by Francisco T. Molina, 76, of Deming, NM, was traveling southbound on NM Highway 11 (Columbus Highway).  As the Chevrolet attempted to pass another vehicle in the opposing northbound lane, the Chevrolet collided head-on into a 2003 GMC Equinox SUV traveling north. Molina sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of Medical Investigator.

By News Editor And Partners • Dec 30, 2020    Luna County, NM – On December 28, 2020 at approximately 7:04 p.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal head-on crash on NM Highway 11, near milepost 16 south of Deming, NM.  The initial investigation indicates a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by Francisco T. Molina (76) of Deming, NM, was traveling southbound on NM Highway 11.  As the Chevrolet attempted to pass another vehicle in the opposing northbound lane, the Chevrolet collided head-on into a 2003 GMC Equinox SUV traveling north.  Molina sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of Medical Investigator. The driver of the GMC, Maria C. Balcazar (48) of Boaz, AL was transported by emergency personnel to an area hospital in Deming, NM where she succumbed to her injuries.  There were two other passengers in the GMC, a 10-year-old child and a 6-year-old child.  The 10-year-old and 6-year-old were transported
