Abbeville teen arrested on conspiracy to commit murder charge

A second arrest was made in an ongoing investigation for conspiracy to commit second-degree murder.
Roland Bernard III was arrested in November after investigators intercepted information that Bernard was engaging in methods to have others commit second-degree murder.
Earlier this week the Vermilion Parish Sheriffâs Office Criminal Investigation Division along with the Narcotics Task Force arrested a 17-year-old suspect.
The teen has also been charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree murder and was immediately transported to a juvenile detention center in Mississippi where he awaits the next process in the juvenile court system.

WHITEVILLE, N.C. (WECT) - A Columbus County employee has been arrested and charged with 14 counts of larceny and 14 counts of obtaining property by false pretense for using a county gas card for personal use.
Messiah Maurice Brown, 20, was arrested last week but the investigation started in November.
“In November, Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division initiated an investigation after being notified by the Purchasing Agent for the County of Columbus. The Purchasing Agent noticed questionable gas purchases on a county credit card. Investigators learned that a County of Columbus Maintenance Department gas card was unaccounted for. The same gas card was used to make unauthorized premium gas purchases,” according to the

Tony Phillips, 32, has been arrested in a shooting in Middle Valley early Thursday morning.
Warrants were obtained by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division charging Phillips with attempted first-degree murder and especially aggravated robbery.
Members of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team worked with the Walker County Sheriff’s Office to take Phillips into custody at a residence in Walker County, Ga.
Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 7500 block of Irongate Drive to a shooting incident at 1:05 a.m. on Thursday.
