IPOPHL elevates mediation with full online service

Published April 5, 2021, 5:00 AM The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) has upgraded its mediation service by mandating proceedings to be conducted entirely online. Published on March 4, 2021, Memorandum Circular No. 2020-047 or the “Amendments to the Revised Rules on Mediation” and Memorandum Circular No. 2020-048 or the “Amendment to the Rules of Procedure for IPOPHL Mediation Outside of Litigation” were issued by the Bureau of Legal Affairs (BLA). The issuances  took effect on April 3, 2021. “With these amendments and value-added enhancements, IPOPHL sees its upgraded mediation services as a viable choice for local, including micro, small and medium enterprises, and foreign stakeholders as the mode and venue of resolving IP disputes,” IPOPHL Director General Rowel S. Barba said. 

OADR to conduct OWS Ep 10, National ADR Day Commemoration

QUEZON CITY, Dec. 17 (PIA) The Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution (OADR) will conduct the finale episode of the OADR Webinar Series on (OWS)  and Commemoration of the 8th National Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Day 18 December 2020 at 9:00AM to 5:00PM, via Zoom, simulcast live via Facebook. With the theme ‘Driving ADR Growth Amidst Current and Potential Challenges,’ the final episode of the OWS will tackle topics on Understanding Katarungang Pambarangay System, Resolving Land Disputes through ADR in the Philippines: Grassroots Challenges  and Potential, and a lecture on accreditation. Invited Speakers are Dir. Romeo P. Benitez, of the Legislative Liaison Service, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG); Atty. Rodel Taton, Dean of the Graduate School of Law of San Sebastion College-Recoletos; and Ms. Laurence P. Garcia, the OIC-Chief of the Accreditation and Certification Division, OADR.
