A Clifton resident was raped between the ages of 6 and 11 by a now-21-year-old Paterson man who was a juvenile at the time, authorities said.
The victim, now 14, reported the alleged incidents to local police, who contacted the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit on March 7, Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Tom Rinaldi said late Monday.
An investigation followed that included interviews with, among others, the youngster, who reported “multiple sexual assaults by the suspect in residences in both Clifton and Paterson,” they said.
It wasn’t explained why it took nearly a year to arrest and charge the defendant, whose name wasn’t released because he was being prosecuted as a juvenile under New Jersey law based on when the alleged assaults occurred.

James Richard Coleman was charged with 20 felony counts of possession of child pornography.
Members of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit, Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations (HIS) and the ECSO SWAT team served a search warrant at Coleman’s home.
Inside the home, investigators found alleged child pornography on a laptop belonging to Coleman.
Coleman remained in the Escambia County Jail Saturday morning with bond set at $200,000.
Child pornography arrests made in Macon
Two investigations and subsequent arrests in cases that were first initiated in Fall 2020 has Macon County Sheriff’s Office detectives continuing their extensive investigations.
On Oct. 16, 2020, detectives from the Macon County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit received an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Cyber Tip. The Special Victims Unit is also part of the NC State Bureau ICAC Task Force and receives information in reference to crimes of possession, manufacture and distribution of child pornography. Because of this tip, detectives made contact with the suspect and an investigation began and soon expanded to other states.

DeEFUNIAK SPRINGS A man has been sentenced to four decades in prison after he was convicted of child pornography charges, according to a news release from the State Attorney s Office.
On Dec. 11, 2019, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit executed a search warrant at Miller s home in the Timberwind neighborhood in DeFuniak Springs. The search warrant was the result of investigators receiving numerous cyber tips of someone uploading child pornography from the internet protocol address associated with Miller’s house. A forensic computer specialist with the Sheriff’s Office found 19 images of children ranging from 2 years to 8 years old engaged in various sex acts.

Man Already Facing Sexual Exploitation Charges Arrested On New Counts

66-year-old Michael Ray Hawkins of Fairgate Drive in Statesville was arrested Saturday (January 30) by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with two counts of felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Between November 2020 and January 2021 the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit received two cyber tips through the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The tips included information about an individual that was possibly in possession of child pornography. An investigation was conducted into these allegations.
