ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. Alexander County Sheriff’s Office used a thermal imaging drone to rescue a missing 78-year-old man from down an embankment in the Stony Point community Wednesday evening.
Deputies were called to a residence located off of Beam Lane in reference to a missing person just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies arrived at the residence and family members reported that a 78-year-old man had left the residence alone on a side by side ATV around 4:30 PM and had not returned home.

The United States Marshals Service is now involved in the search for an Alexander County couple wanted in connection to the murder of a woman one week ago in Hickory. 49-year-old Tangela Louise Parker and 61-year-old Eric Carroll Parker, both of Taylorsville, are wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of 51-year-old Phelifia Michele Marlow.
The shooting occurred at 2:30 last Wednesday afternoon (January 13) at T.C.S. Designs on 9th Avenue N.E. in Hickory. The shooting was the result of a dispute between two employees. Officers found the victim in the business suffering from gunshot wounds. Ms. Marlow was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem where she passed away as a result of her injuries.

Statutory Rape, Incest Charges Lodged Against Taylorsville Man

21-year-old Darion Omar Campbell of Taylorsville was arrested today (January 13) by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of first-degree statutory rape of a child by an adult, statutory sex offense with a child under the age of 15, and incest with a child under the age of 13.
The arrest stems from an ongoing investigation by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. Campbell was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under a $1,500,000 secured bond. His first appearance in District Court is scheduled for next Tuesday (January 19) in Taylorsville.
