Another 20 schools in Greater Manchester have been affected by confirmed Covid cases. We reported last night how 31 of the region s schools have already had to send children home following cases among pupils, staff or both.
Today the number has topped 50, with high schools and primaries both affected by positive tests.
Headteacher Phil Brooke warned families to be on the lookout for lesser known symptoms experienced by those who tested positive.

A headteacher has warned families to be on the lookout for other symptoms as pupils and staff tested positive for Covid. While the NHS advice is to be aware of the three main symptoms of a high temperature, a new continuous cough and a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste, that s not been the case at Alexandra Park Primary School in Stockport.
