El esloveno Tadej Pogacar (UAE-Emirates), actual campeón del Tour de Francia, inscribió su nombre en el historial de la Vuelta a Eslovenia al término de la quinta y última etapa, de 175,3 km entre Ljubljana y Novo mesto, en la que se impuso al esprint el alemán Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain).
El esprinter germano fue conducido en volandas por su equipo hasta los últimos metros y remató el trabajo de sus compañeros con la decimoquinta victoria de su carrera profesional, batiendo a los australianos
