Car retail industry leaders from Marshall Motor Holdings and JCT600 are set to climb Mount Kilimanjaro as part of the Ben charity’s latest fund-raising challenge.
Billed as the charity’s biggest-ever Industry Leader Challenge (ILC) fundraiser, The Climb will aim to raise £300,000 when participants bid to reach the African mountain’s summit from October 30 to November 8.
Ben is now inviting more automotive leaders and aspiring leaders to come forward and take part in The Climb in a bid to maximise the impact of the fund-raising challenge.
JCT600 chief executive John Tordoff and director of customer experience Andy Bateman have already signed-up to represent the car retail sector by taking on the challenge alongside Marshall commercial development director Adrian Wallington and VW divisional head of sales Clive McGregor.
Rachel Bullen joins ARI as new transport compliance manager
ARI has announced the appointment of Rachel Bullen to the newly created role of transport compliance manager, to help its fleet customers manage increasing demands of legislation and compliance.
Bullen, who has more than 30 years’ experience running fleets and chairs of industry bodies, will be working with customers to help establish and streamline compliance processes, says ARI.
Matt Cranny, operations director at ARI, said: “To have a person of such vast experience and knowledge of compliance and legislation on board at ARI is very important.
“Rachel has an encyclopaedic knowledge of compliance and a deep practical understanding of how to make it work on the ground. Rachel will be key to shaping ARIs solutions and support for our customers in the most important area of managing a commercial fleet.”

The campaign will be implemented in the UK only, for the time being, as part of a move to drive up warranty sales. BMW Financial Services and Allianz Partners UK have devised it, saying in a statement that drivers of BMWs lacking insurance will be called out in traffic for it by means of interactive billboards, Motoring Research reports.
The billboard signs will be using Vehicle Detection Technology, reading plates and running registration numbers to check if the BMW driver has a valid warranty. If that’s not the case,
“highly personalized, real time content” will be shown on the screen, along with a message that the vehicle is not covered for the cost of repairs, so the driver should
