Police: 15-year-old boy in Albany charged after 8-year-old shoots himself in hand | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS The 8-year-old was treated at the scene and taken to Albany Medical Center for evaluation, police said. Police believe the 8-year-old shot himself in the hand Dec. 25, but then Child Protective Services responded Dec. 31 to a home on Delaware Avenue for a report of a boy who had suffered an injury to his hand, police said. The investigation soon determined that the boy had accidently shot himself in the hand with a handgun he’d located in the pocket of a coat that belonged to the 15-year-old, police said.
