Albany County Executive Dan Mccoy announced 218 new positive coronavirus cases at a Wednesday briefing.
There were 110 people in the hospital, down from the record high of 117 Tuesday.
There have 18 new hospitalizations since Tuesday, a record high.
There are 23 patients in the ICU, same as yesterday.

KNOX, N,Y. A 12-year-old girl was hospitalized after a family member accidentally buried her in a snow pile while plowing Thursday morning, reported the Albany Times Union.
The incident occurred on Middle Road in Knox in Albany County. County sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene at 8:30 a.m.
The youngster was out playing and digging holes in the snow as a family member was plowing. The individual operating the plow didn’t know she was there and accidentally “pushed her in to a snowbank” burying her, the Albany paper reported.

ALBANY The county recorded one of its worst days yet during the coronavirus pandemic, setting records for new cases, hospitalizations and five more residents dead from the disease.
The news comes as public health officials continue to be concerned of an even larger surge in cases due to people gathering for the holidays, the number of available hospital beds in the region shrinks and the percentage of people testing positive rises. According to state data, the region s seven-day rolling average for positive tests at 6.3 percent is fourth-highest in the state.
