ALBANY, N.Y. â During his Friday morning press briefing, Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy confirmed five new deaths linked to COVID-19. Among the deaths were a woman in her 50s, two men in their 60s, a man in his 80s and a woman in her 90s.
The death toll for the county stands at 291 since pandemic tracking began last March.
Albany County has 1,753 active cases. The county executive announced 255 new positive cases within that total. Encompassed within the new cases were 40 who had close contact with positive cases, one had traveled out of state, 196 who did not presently have a clear source of infection, and 18 are healthcare workers or residents of congregate settings.
