COLONIE A man wanted for assaulting a police officer in February surrendered to police Wednesday night, police said.
The 43-year-old Malta man admitted to the assault on Aug. 28, he was freed pending sentencing. He did not return for that court date on Nov. 2, and any following dates, leading to the warrant signed Wednesday in Albany County Court, police said.

COLONIE Town police said they are looking for a man who assaulted a police officer in February, and pleaded guilty, but failed to return for his sentencing.
After Jerson D. Vargas, 43, admitted to the assault on Aug. 28 he was freed pending sentencing. He did not return for that court date on Nov. 2, and any following dates, leading to the warrant signed Wednesday in Albany County Court, police said.
