Police charge woman after elderly victims targeted at Albany Albany Police have charged a woman following their investigation into a number incidents involving elderly and vulnerable victims.
It will be alleged between September 2020 and May 2021 the woman targeted elderly and vulnerable victims and has stolen cash while the victims were withdrawing cash from an ATM, making withdrawals against the victim’s wishes and accessing internet banking to make large cash transfers.
It will be further alleged she befriended the victims and removed property items whilst in their homes.
To date at least $25,000 has been stolen from the victims.
A father repeatedly bashed and strangled his ex-girlfriend while she was breastfeeding their newborn son - then dragged her and the baby under a shower.
Albany Magistrates Court heard that Dion James Cummings, 41, viciously assaulted his ex-partner while she nursed the infant at her home at Yakamia, in Western Australia, on August 10, 2020, in front of her four children.
Her 10-year-old son told police he woke up to see Cummings punching her, a lot - about 10, 20, 30 times.

A South Coast man has been fined $15,000 and banned from owning a pet for three years following a barbaric attempt to kill his two dogs using a mallet two years ago.

A Vietnamese man has received a suspended jail sentence after pleading guilty to breaching laws designed to protect the community from COVID-19 transmission.
Key points:
The magistrate said the 37-year-old s behaviour was unacceptable
He was handed a six-month suspended sentence and faces deportation
Ho was an employee on the ship and had been onboard for several months.
Appearing in court via videolink from Albany Regional Prison, he pleaded guilty to failing to comply with COVID-19 laws intended to protect the community against transmission.

A Vietnamese man who allegedly jumped ship in Albany and swam to shore over the weekend could be stranded in Western Australia if his ship leaves port on schedule.
