And Bolton domestic abuse charity Fortalice, which manages a refuge, and police, have had to work hard this year to keep in touch with victims. Staying connected with people suffering violence at home has been very difficult amid two national lockdowns since March, and many other strict rules enforced in between in bids to help stop the spread of Covid-19. Fortalice chief executive Gill Smallwood said: “During Covid we have worked in many different ways trying to ensure victims have a route in for support. I think it’s difficult for victims to come forward but I think they have done that through Webchat.
