A man has been accused of stabbing his neighbour in the back as the alleged victim made his way home.
Trevor Greene (70) allegedly produced a short-bladed knife and stabbed the man outside his house, leaving him with a single puncture wound.
He is facing trial on an assault charge after a judge ruled the allegation was too serious to be dealt with at district court level.
The case was adjourned by Judge Brian O Shea for further directions of the DPP.
Mr Greene, of Thomond Road, Ballyfermot, is charged with causing harm to a man.
The offence is alleged to have happened at Thomond Road last August 15.
