ISLAMABAD, April 29 (Xinhua) Pakistan s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) have seized 6748.339 kg of narcotics valuing 234.325 million U.S. dollars in 24 hours in different operations across the country, a statement said on Thursday.
According to the statement issued by the ANF, the force conducted 23 counter-narcotics strikes throughout the country and arrested 26 culprits, including a foreign national and recovered drugs and weapons from the smugglers.
The biggest recoveries of 2,200 kg and 2,165 kg were made in two different areas of the country s southwest district Qilla Abdullah, a region sharing border with Afghanistan. The officials said that the drugs were smuggled from Afghanistan into the bordering district to supply them to other areas of Pakistan.

PIA to start Karachi-Skardu direct flight operations

Pakistan International Airlines announced to operate Karachi to Skardu direct flight operations to facilitate tourists, local media reported.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the direct flights from Karachi to Skardu will operate twice a week. PIA will use Airbus A-320 aircraft for these flights.
The first flight from Karachi is likely to be scheduled on 16th May, the PIA spokesperson said.
Air Marshal Arshad Malik, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), had earlier said that the national carrier was planning to operate direct flights from Karachi to Skardu in order to promote tourism.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Anti Narcotics Force Pakistan has seized 4277.912 Kg narcotics valuing US $ 152.771 Million internationally, arrested 26 culprits including two foreigners, one lady and impounded 14 vehicles while conducting 24 counter-narcotics strikes throughout the country.
Police Station Regional Directorate ANF, Quetta recovered 1690 Kg Hashish from (30 polythene Sack) near Dry Rainy Nullah situated at Kuchlak Pashin bypass District, Quetta.
In another operation, Police Station Regional Directorate ANF, Quetta, Balochistan, recovered 1710 Kg Hashish from (30 Polythene Sack) near Dry Rainy Nullah situated near Killi Daman Tehsil Gulistan District Qilla Abdullah.
