Woman commits suicide over domestic issue

LAHORE:A 24-year old woman committed suicide by taking poisonous pills in the Chuhng police area on Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Saman Abbas. She had an exchange of hot words with her husband over a domestic issue and took poisonous pills. As a result, her condition went critical. She was rushed to hospital where she expired. Body was shifted to morgue.
Smuggled silver seized; one held: Customs officials on Wednesday seized a large quantity of silver smuggled from abroad at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore. According to Customs Collector Saqib Warraich, silver worth millions of rupees was being brought from abroad. Saqib Warraich said on suspicion, a passenger’s luggage was searched and a large quantity of silver was recovered. Customs officials arrested the accused.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – At least four people on Saturday have lost their lives while four others sustained severe wounds in two separate accidents in Toba Tek Singh and Gojra as dense fog has blanketed several cities of Punjab including Lahore, badly disrupting the air and road traffic.
According to details, the visibility has dropped to zero on main roads across the province and Motorway has been closed for all kind of traffic at various, while the flight operation at the Allama Iqbal International Airport has also got affected due to the severe weather condition.
Over 18 flights to and from Lahore were delayed after dense fog enveloped the city on Friday morning. According to the spokesperson of the Allama Iqbal International Airport, three domestic flights landing and six taking off from the city have been delayed. On the other hand, six international flights flying from Lahore and five arriving flights faced a delay. The fog has affected road transport in the city as well. Motorways M-3 from Lahore to Darkhan and M-4 from Pindi Bhattian to Shorkot have been closed for traffic.
