The Microscience Microscopy Congress (mmc2021) is quite simply the biggest and boldest of its kind in Europe. For many years it has brought the global microscopy and imaging community together and served as a unique opportunity for companies – both large and small – to showcase a quantity and quality of equipment that never fails to impress.
Although many public events around the globe continue to be postponed or cancelled due to COVID-19, the RMS has risen to the challenge of running mmc2021 as a one-hundred-per-cent, virtual conference and exhibition. Though nothing can fully replace the experience of meeting colleagues, clients and friends in person, moving the Congress online means we will still have the opportunity to connect and that mmc2021 will be accessible across the world.

That decision was made to ensure that Society activities could still go forward without risk to attendees. By making this decision sufficiently in advance, we wanted to ensure that there was ample time to plan excellent virtual events, “explained Allison Winton, RMS Chief Executive.
“We had been hoping that the Microscience Microscopy Congress (mmc2021) incorporating EMAG 2021 would be able to take place in person at Manchester Central, but given the ever-changing COVID-19 situation (even with the positive news of vaccines on the horizon), the uncertainty means that we are unable to make definite plans for the mmc2021 event to proceed in person. We do not know to what extent social distancing measures will still be required and also if travel restrictions will have been lifted sufficie
