Two Zeeland men injured, one critically, in late-Saturday crash Updated May 09, 2021; Facebook Share ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI - Two Zeeland men were injured in a single-vehicle crash Saturday that left the passenger in critical condition, according to a news release from the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday to reports of a single-vehicle truck crash in the area of 136th Avenue and 41st Street in Overisel Township, according to the release. Police believe the driver left the roadway after failing to turn on a curve, striking a tree and coming to a rest in a wooded area.

According to the Allegan County Sheriff s Office, it happened around 9:30 p.m. in the area of 136th Avenue and 41st Street in Overisel Township. Police say the driver, a 43-year-old Zeeland man, lost control on a curve, struck a tree and ended up in a wooded area nearby. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Holland man sentenced after discovery of secret bathroom camera

ALLEGAN A Holland man was sentenced to five years of probation on peeping charges after his roommate discovered he placed a hidden camera in their shared bathroom and called police.  Chad Nicholas Overbeek, 38, of Holland, was arrested Aug. 17 and initially faced eight felony charges, including four counts of capturing/distributing an image of an unclothed person and four counts of using a computer to commit a crime.  Detectives with the Allegan County Sheriff s Office and the Michigan State Police seized digital evidence during a search of Overbeek s home and executed a search warrant for cloud data.  Overbeek pleaded no contest to one count of capturing/distributing an image of an unclothed person and one count of using a computer to commit a crime. All other charges were dropped. He was sentenced April 19.

The investigation started after the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police 5 th District Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force after a tip about child sexually abusive material being uploaded to the internet. Deputies say the investigation led to Allie Teed. Police searched her home and say digital evidence was seized. Teed was arraigned on April 29 and charged with four counts of possessing child sexually abusive material, four counts of distributing child sexually abusive material, and four counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
