In a monumental moment in the battle against COVID-19, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday lifted indoor face mask and social distancing mandates for people who are fully vaccinated.
âYesterdayâs announcement represents a significant milestone, and a culmination of months of vaccinations that have proven to be highly effective,â said Dr. Marc Itskowitz, internal medicine physician at Allegheny Health Network. âIt represents one of the final steps to end this pandemic.â
An email statement issued by Monongahela Valley Hospital said, âMonongahela Valley Hospital is happy those who are vaccinated can begin to return to pre-pandemic life.â

Allegheny Health Network (AHN) has collaborated with the legendary Marvel Comics to tell the true-life stories of first medical responders from AHN and community EMS services. Set in the winter of 2020, the first responders’ stories are brought to life in a comic book, titled “The Vitals: True EMS Stories,” that was unveiled to the public today. The Vitals: True EMS Stories a collaboration of Allegheny Health Network and Marvel Comics, tells EMS workers real-life stories during the COVID-19 pandemic.
