This office requested additional time to complete the presentation of the case based on good cause, and that request was denied. We are requesting a reconsideration of that denial, Ulster County District Attorney David Clegg told Hudson Valley Post in a statement.

In January, 38-year-old Raymond A. Snyder of Murray Street in Kingston was charged with second-degree murder and first-degree burglary, felonies.
On July 11, 2020, the Kingston Police Department received a call for shots fired at a home on St. James Street. Uniformed patrol officers responded and found 47-year-old Romero Underwood in the home with an apparent gunshot wound, police say.
He was treated by EMS at the scene and transported to the Broadway campus of the Health Alliance where he succumbed to the injury, police say.

A New York man accused of murder was released from jail Monday because the Ulster County District Attorney did not file an indictment against him within the timeframe mandated by law.
County Judge Bryan Rounds admonished the district attorney Monday for failing to file an indictment against 38-year-old Raymond Snyder, who was arrested in January on murder and robbery charges, a ruling obtained by the Daily Freeman shows. The People had until March 28, 2021, to present their case to a grand jury and obtain an indictment against the defendant, but they failed to do so, Rounds wrote in the ruling. As of May 3, 2021, thirty-six days beyond the forty-five day deadline, the People had still not obtained an indictment against the defendant.
Almahri had been charged with four counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and second-degree assault.
The District Attorney s Office said Almahri had a blood alcohol content of .21%, more than twice the legal driving limit of .08%, at the time of the crash.
Almahri was accused of driving about 50 mph in a 30 mph zone on Henry W. DuBois Road around 10:30 that night and blowing through several stop signs and rear-ending a 2012 Toyota Scion that was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection with North Oakwood Terrace. His 2008 Volvo then veered into an embankment and overturned.
Randazzo, who was in the backseat, was killed. Two other passengers in Almahri s car, as well as the driver whose car was rear-ended, had surgeries to treat severe injuries, the District Attorney s Office said.
