Timothée Chalamet to Star in Willy Wonka Origin Movie
In the tradition of
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory comes
Wonka, a new movie starring the famous chocolatier. This film will be an “origin tale” for the character explaining how he came to be such an eccentric. And he will be played as a younger man by
Dune and
Call Me By Your Name star Timothée Chalamet.
Deadline reports that the film will not only be an origin story for Wonka (wasn’t
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory an origin story too? It had that whole thing about his mean dad the dentist? Whatever.) it “will mark the first time Chalamet gets to show off his singing and dancing skills with several musical numbers set to appear in the film.” They also note Chalamet was the producers’ top choice for the role, but that a busy schedule has made it hard for him to commit to subjecting adorable yet obnoxious children to his Jigsaw Killer Jr.-style devious traps.
Lil Nas X Split His Pants in Provocative SNL Performance scandal 4 hours ago
The rapper behind controversial hit Montero (Call Me By Your Name), Lil Nas X, rocked up to the Saturday Night Live studios in New York to deliver the last musical performance of the season.
He definitely delivered with an epic performance of the recent chart-buster, and everything was going according to plan. Nas was backed up by oil-slicked backup dancers dressed in assless chaps and he decided to pull some pole dancing moves… and promptly split his pants right up the crotch.
To his absolute credit, Lil Nas only allowed for about a second of shock to cross his face before he recovered, grabbed his crotch and continued on with the extravagant performance.

Lil Nas X has well and truly entered album mode. Last week, he released Sun Goes Down , his second single of the year and follow-up to the controversial viral No. 1 Montero (Call Me By Your Name) , both of which are expected to feature on his forthcoming debut album, and on Saturday, he took to the storied stage of
Saturday Night Live to perform both tracks. The performance of the former, during which the rapper and songwriter was accompanied by a posse of scantily clad dancers, was not without incident: during the latter half of the song, Lil Nas X s pants appeared to rip, requiring him to cover his crotch for the rest of the performance. In response, he tweeted that, unlike many of his stunts designed to induce virality, the wardrobe malfunction was not planned. Watch the performance of Montero above and Sun Goes Down below.
