Last week, Ohio announced the “Vax-a-Million Sweepstakes” where every Ohioan who is vaccinated will be in the running to win $1,000,000. The contest will run every week for five weeks. Reports say NYC’s Mayor is looking into doing something similar.
During a recent presser, while he didn’t fully commit to the $1,000,000 lottery, he did admit to being opened to the idea.
Ohio was originally going to use voter information to select winners however later changes their approach and now have Ohioans signing up to win. Instead of using voter rolls, which was previously announced, all Ohioans who want to be considered for the $1 million prize MUST enter the contest in one of the following ways:

In less than 24 hours, the Ohio Vax-a-Million saw hundreds of thousands of entries and more than 25 million page views on the official opt-in website, according to the Ohio Department of Health (ODH).
Officials say that by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the ODH had received more than 60,000 calls from Ohioans looking to enter the special lottery for vaccinated individuals.
“This is a unique, innovative way to encourage COVID-19 vaccinations, and we are pleased to see so much activity today,” said Ohio Department of Health Director Stephanie McCloud. “In addition, we are seeing early indicators of increased uptake after the Vax-a-Million announcement last week, and will continue to monitor this moving
