Three removalists who allegedly knew they were infected with coronavirus before they drove out of southwest Sydney and visited towns in NSW could be jailed for six months.
The men aged 20, 27 and 27 allegedly travelled from West Hoxton in the Covid-ravaged Liverpool Local Government Area to Figtree in Wollongong, before stopping at several towns on their way to Molong, in the state s central west.
Police caught up with the trio on Speedy Street in Molong at about 2.30pm on Friday after being notified that they had travelled from a Covid hotspot.
NSW Police Deputy Commissioner Gary Worboys said they had been charged and face six months in jail and fines of $11,000 each.

Removalists who travelled from Sydney to Molong among those still not complying with Public Health Orders
Three removalists who allegedly had knowledge they were COVID positive before travelling from metropolitan Sydney to regional NSW are among the latest people to breach the Public Health Order in the past 24 hours.
Just after 2.30pm yesterday (Friday 16 July 2021), officers from Central West Police District attended Speedy Street, Molong, and spoke with four men – aged 21, 49 and two aged 27 – after receiving information they had travelled there from West Hoxton.
Police established the men, who were working as removalists, had travelled from West Hoxton to Figtree, before travelling to Molong, stopping in regional areas including South Bowenfels and Orange along the way.

New South Wales police are cracking down on Public Health Orders, after a surge in new COVID-19 cases (50 in Sydney) overnight.
More than 160 Penalty Infringement Notices were issued yesterday, with 76 of those for failing to wear a fitted face covering.
Among the offenders is a group of people on the Central Coast, ignoring lockdown restrictions.
About 9.40pm yesterday, officers arrived at a house party on Norberta Avenue at The Entrance.
They spoke with six people – aged between 17 and 22 – celebrating an 18th birthday, which was in breach of the Public Health Orders.
The 17-year-old girl was issued a warning, while the five others were each handed a $1,000 fine.
