Key COVID-19 trends in Ottawa on the decline

  OTTAWA Ottawa Public Health is reporting 139 more people in the city have tested positive for COVID-19 and one more person has died. Across Ontario, health officials reported 3,436 new cases of COVID-19, a drop compared to the more than 3,700 cases reported on Sunday. The province also reported 3,623 newly resolved cases and said 16 more Ontarians have died from COVID-19. Public Health Ontario reported 130 new cases in Ottawa on Monday. Figures from OPH often differ from those provided by Public Health Ontario because the health units pull data for their respective daily reports at different times of the day. According to Ottawa Public Health s COVID-19 dashboard, the city has seen 24,657 total laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began and 510 residents of Ottawa have died of the disease.

Ottawa sees fewer than 100 new COVID-19 cases for first time since March

  OTTAWA Ottawa Public Health says 94 more people in the city have tested positive for COVID-19, marking the first time fewer than 100 new cases were reported in a single day since March. The new figure brings the city s pandemic total to 24,751 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19. The last time Ottawa Public Health reported fewer than 100 daily cases of COVID-19 was on March 24, when it reported 80 new cases. Cases climbed dramatically in early April, peaked at 370 daily cases on April 11 and 15, and then began to decline. However, five more people in Ottawa have died from the virus. To date, 515 residents have died during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Total number of active COVID-19 cases drops to 68 in Quinte

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting 20 COVID-19 recoveries today. However, there have been two new cases added to the list. The region now has a total of 68 active cases. Health officials say that 17 people with COVID-19 are being treated in hospital, with nine in ICU and four on a ventilator. A total of 60,900 doses of vaccine have been administered. Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Public Health is reporting 19 new cases of the virus today, for a total of 96 active cases. The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit says there are three new COVID-19 cases in Northumberland, for a total of 34 in that county.
