69: The number of Ottawa residents being treated in hospital for COVID-19 remains at a record high, as does the number of those patients currently in intensive care.
1.05: The number of people infected by a single COVID-19 case, or R(t). The spread of the coronavirus is considered under control if that figure is kept below one. It s been above one for four weeks.
50: Ottawa s number of active COVID-19 outbreaks, including eight new ones, the most since late October.
It’s another day with a high number of new COVID-19 cases in Quinte.
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting 19 new cases today, for a total of 148 active cases.

Staff say that four people are in hospital with one person in ICU. A total of 67 variants of concern have been identified.

A new outbreak has been declared today at the Richmond Retirement home in Belleville, with one case identified so far.
Sources are telling The Canadian Press and other media outlets that Premier Doug Ford will announce a stay-at-home order.
There are reports that the order will go in effect just after midnight, and last for four weeks. Only essential stores will remain open.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford dropped the hammer once again Wednesday issuing a stay-at-home state of emergency order effective midnight Wednesday amid rising third-wave cases of COVID-19.
The order remains in effect for four weeks.

Ford’s further crackdown was paralleled by 27 new cases reported by Hastings Prince Edward Public Health on its public online dashboard Wednesday.
