E town man charged in burglary

An Elizabethtown man was arrested early Monday morning after police say he broke into the residence of a woman. Gregory Johnson, 30, had an Emergency Protective Order against him to have no contact with the woman and to stay at least 500 feet away from her. According to an arrest citation, Elizabethtown police were called to a North Main Street residence regarding a domestic dispute. When police arrived, officers could hear “loud noises coming from the apartment,” the document said. Johnson was found in a bathroom upstairs. According to the woman, Johnson had forced his way into the apartment. He is charged with second-degree burglary — a Class C felony punishable by five to 10 years in prison, if convicted, and violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO.
