Prince Philip has died two months before his 100th birthday.
The Duke of Edinburgh passed away peacefully at Windsor Castle this morning, the royal household has confirmed.
His death comes weeks after he was released from hospital after being treated for a pre-existing heart condition and an infection.
A statement from Buckingham Palace said: “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
