COAS visits Bahrain, meets kingdom leadership

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday visited Bahrain and held meetings with the leadership of the kingdom.
The COAS called on Prince Salman bin Hamad bin lsa Al Khalifa, the crown prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief Bahrain Defence Forces Lieutenant General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Isa Al Khalifa, Commander Bahrain National Guard.
During the meetings, matters of mutual interest, bilateral defence and security cooperation and regional security situation in the Middle East came under discussion.

Pakistan Army chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa was on Thursday presented with the Bahrain Order (First Class) award by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Ali Khalifa for making significant contributions to defense cooperation between Bahrain and Pakistan.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the honor was conferred upon the Chief of the Army Staff while he was on an official trip to the Middle Eastern nation from Jan. 6 to Jan. 8. It said that during his visit, Gen. Bajwa had called on Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad, Commander-in-Chief of Bahrain Defense Forces Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa and Commander of Bahrain National Guard Lt. Gen. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Bahrain reaffirms special ties with Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: Bahrain has reaffirmed its special relationship with Pakistan and pledged to keep working for even better relations between the two brotherly countries.
These views were expressed by the Bahraini leadership during talks with Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, who paid a three-day visit to Bahrain, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Friday.
While there, the Army chief called on His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad bin lsa Al Khalifa, The Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Excellency Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief Bahrain Defence Forces and His Royal Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Isa Al Khalifa, Commander Bahrain National Guard.

Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani has reviewed with the editors-in-chief of newspapers and columnists the outcomes of the 41st Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit, the Sultan Qaboos and Shaikh Sabah Summit , held in Al Ula in Saudi Arabia.
