Paralympic medallists Al Hammadi, Al Senaani, Alktebi to lead UAE challenge 02/09/21
Paralympic medallists Mohammed Al Hammadi, Sara Al Senaani and Noura Alktebi will lead the Emirati challenge at the 12th Fazza International Championships – Dubai 2021 World Para Athletics Grand Prix that gets underway at the Dubai Club for People of Determination grounds here from Feb. 10-13, 2021.
The three of them will lead a 48-member United Arab Emirates’ team who would look to secure as many slots for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics scheduled this Summer.
For Al Hammadi, the celebrated middle-distance racer from UAE, memories of his Dubai 2019 World Championships heroics will surely revive when he competes at the Dubai Club grounds. He had claimed three medals including a gold at his favourite Men’s 800m T34 event at the Worlds.

Dubai, Feb 9 : Reigning world champions Sundar Singh Gurjar and Sandeep Chaudhary will lead the Indian challenge at the 12th Fazza International Championships Dubai 2021 World Para Athletics Grand Prix starting on Wednesday.
Both Gurjar (F46) and Chaudhary (F44), both Para Javelin throwers, will return to their happy hunting ground, the Dubai Club for People of Determination grounds, as the 39-member Indian side look to secure Tokyo 2020 qualifying slots. India already has secured 12 quotas in Para Athletics.

Dubai announces new Covid-19 precautionary measures
DUBAI, February 3, 2021 Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, headed by Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has announced a new set of precautionary measures aimed at safeguarding the community from Covid-19, effective February 2 until the end of the month. During a meeting chaired by Sheikh Mansoor, the Committee noted that the new decisions are part of a constant evaluation of the evolving Covid-19 situation to ensure all precautionary measures are updated and implemented in line with local, regional and international developments. The measures seek to further enhance efforts to combat Covid-19, and protect the health and safety of all citizens, residents and visitors.
