Muscat: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning clarified the documents required for citizens to receive exemptions from paying housing loans as part of the social protection initiatives package.
Based on the directives from His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, citizens whose salary is less than OMR 350 as of April 9, 2021 are eligible for loan exemption. However, the Ministry has issued a set of documents that is required for the exemption.
1- A recent salary certificate issued by the employer, which was issued not more than one month ago.
2- The total monthly income of the owners of trades and professions according to a letter from the sheikh of the region approved by the office of the governor.

Muscat: The Supreme Committee tasked with tackling developments resulting from coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic held a media briefing at the Diplomatic Club on Monday where editors from Oman News Agency (ONA), Oman TV and other mass media received updates.
Dr. Abdullah Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information, member of the Supreme Committee, said that His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik formed the COVID-19 Supreme Committee at an early stage of coronavirus’s outbreak at a global level. He noted that the Supreme Committee took prompt action to safeguard public health, namely by issuing decisions aimed to curb the spread of the virus and keep it in minimum levels in Oman.
