Sayyid Asa’ad bids farewell to ambassadors By: ONA Muscat: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, His Highness Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tarik Al-Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs, Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, received separately in his office Eid Mohammed Al Thaqafi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to the Sultanate, and Manabile Shogole, Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to the Sultanate at the end of their tour of duty. The two ambassadors expressed their sincere thanks to His Majesty the Sultan for the support extended to them while carrying out their duty in the Sultanate from His Majesty, the Government and the Omani people, which enabled them to perform their assignments.

Oman took tangible steps to enhance human rights during 2020 By: ONA Muscat: Oman Human Rights Commission has said that the Sultanate took tangible steps to foster human rights and preserve human dignity. In a statement issued yesterday, the Commission pointed out that His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik issued a number of Royal decrees, the most important of which amends the Basic Law of the State and introduces new clauses offering more guarantee to human liberties, rights, human dignity and equality among citizens in terms of rights. Other decrees restructured the State’s Administrative Apparatus to help meet the goals of Oman Vision 2040 and respond to the aspirations of citizens over the coming stage of development, said the statement.
