The hope is to ramp up contact tracing once numbers get back under control.
The issue is our local data shows, if the current trends continue, numbers are only going to keep climbing for the foreseeable future.
The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has completed the first round of COVID-19 vaccinations at all local long-term care homes, well ahead of schedule.
Health Unit CEO Theresa Marentette says the Health Unit finished administering the first doses to residents, staff and essential caregivers at all nineteen long-term care homes in Windsor and Essex County. She says the Health Unit will be circling back to homes in case anyone did not get their first dose.
“Our Health Unit staff at every level contributed to the successful rollout,” she said. “We’re very happy about that.”

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is looking at legal action as a last resort while enforcing isolation rules under the recently-issued Class Order.
Last week, the Health Unit issued a class order under Section 22 of the Health Protection and Promotion Act. The order serves as a legal tool to allow the Health Unit to further enforce isolation rules for COVID-19.
The Health Unit says it will work towards helping people understand why they have to isolate before police get involved.
