June 4, 2021 at 11:58 AM (PT)
Sold
NORTHEAST INDIANA PUBLIC RADIO, INC. is selling Classical WBNI-F/ROANOKE, IN to TAYLOR UNIVERSITY BROADCASTING, INC. for $350,000. The buyer, owner of Contemporary Christian WBCL/FORT WAYNE, plans to flip the station to Gospel using the RHYTHM & PRAISE programming presently heard on its WBCL-HD2; the Classical programming of WBNI will continue on WBOI-HD2/FORT WAYNE and online.
“Our Board of Trustees unanimously approved this sale because it allows us to continue to serve the community with 24/7 classical music while obtaining the funds to make essential digital equipment upgrades,” said NORTHEAST INDIANA PUBLIC RADIO Pres./GM PETER DOMINOWSKI. “It is also important that 94.1 be maintained as a radio service provided by another organization with deep roots in the community.”

The recent publication of the 2021 Southern Baptist Convention (SBC)
Book of Reports has reignited a public dispute between Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and its former president Paige Patterson.
Both sides cite the dispute as a test of the convention’s commitment to truth and a harbinger of its future direction.
Southwestern’s dispatch in the annual
Book of Reports, which presents information for messengers attending the denomination’s upcoming annual meeting, alleges Patterson misappropriated “confidential donor information” and took seminary property after his 2018 termination over allegations of mishandling sexual abuse.
The report comes three months after the seminary settled a lawsuit against a foundation that shifted millions in funding following Patterson’s departure.
The Carl M. Freeman Foundation recently announced grant awards for 14 Sussex County nonprofit organizations through the FACES (Freeman Foundation Assists Communities with Extra Support) Grant Program. The FACES program focuses support to small organizations that provide grassroots services to the community.
The FACES program utilizes an advisory board composed entirely of citizens who live or work in Sussex County. Advisory board members include community leaders, business professionals, students and nonprofit ambassadors. Advisory board members evaluate the applications and recommend where funding should be awarded based on the needs and priorities of the community.
The 14 nonprofits receiving grants are: Art Works for All, Cancer Support Community Delaware, Clothing Our Kids, Delmarva Adult & Teen Challenge, Friends of Sussex CASA, Historic Lewes Farmers Market, John M. Clayton Elementary PTO, Lighthouse for Broken Wings, Literacy Delaware, Milton Community Food Pantry, New Hope
