Article content Schools across the Huron-Perth region are preparing to begin a number of ventilation upgrades and other projects related to pandemic health and safety following the announcement that both the Huron Perth Catholic District and Avon Maitland District school boards will receive nearly $5 million combined in infrastructure funding from the federal and provincial governments. The funding earmarked for Huron-Perth schools was announced as part of a $525.2-million federal investment and a $131.3-million provincial investment in school infrastructure projects meant to support building retrofits, updates and upgrades to Ontario schools and co-located childcare centres. Funded projects include heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) renovations to improve air quality, the installation of water-bottle refilling stations to improve access to safe drinking water, and space reconfigurations such as new walls and doors to enhance physical distancing.

School boards in Huron Bruce to receive infrastructure funding
