Poverty won t remain in Bangladesh: Matia | Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS)

Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury today said there will be no poverty in the country as it is now self-sufficient in food grains. “Bangladesh is now self-sufficient in food grains. There will be no poverty in Bangladesh. None will remain homeless in Bangabandhu’s Bangladesh,” she told a food and clothes distribution ceremony at Foyjur Rahman Ideal Institute ground at Banasree, Rampura in the city. Lions Club of Dhaka Lawyers arranged the ceremony on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. alleviation programme in the country. She urged the affluent people and social organizations to come forward to make their efforts in extending cooperation to poor people.

Ctg district unit Muktijuddha Commander Shahabuddin passes away BSS 23rd April, 2021 05:36:43 Bir Muktijoddha Mohammad Sahabuddin, Chittagong district unit Commander of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad, died at Panchlaish Delta Hospital  at around 10.15 am on Friday. He was 70, family sources said. Mohammad Sahabuddin left behind his wife, one son, three daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death. His son-in-law Raisul Uddin told BSS that his father-in-law Muktijuddah Sahabuddin was tested positive for COVID-19 on March 28. Later, he was admitted to the hospital. After some treatment and various tests, he was brought home on the advice of doctor. He was recently re-admitted to Delta Hospital due to low oxygen levels. Since then, he had been undergoing treatment in the ICU.

The senior politician from Jordan remarked how remarkable the growth story of Bangladesh is, especially given that so many countries are experiencing negative growth as a result of the economic slowdown caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
